Gastronomy

The gastronomy of the Costa del Sol is rich and varied, influenced by both the sea and the mountains. Dishes with shrimp, octopus and sardines are very popular. A regional specialty is such as “pescaito frito”. The “Tapas” are very popular, ranging from ham and cheese to more complex delicious snacks. Local sweets, such as “pestiños” (fried dough with honey) and “tarta de Santiago” (almond cake) are not to be missed. The local and regional wines are excellent.
